Taja Will
(they/them)
Taja (they/them) is an artist, educator, coach and consultant based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They maintain a dynamic consulting practice with a Healing Justice approach. Currently, they work with individuals, organizations, non-profits and communities across the United States. Notably, Taja is a coach for the MAP Fund’s Scaffolding for Practicing Artists (SPA) program. The bulk of their coaching/consulting work focuses on access and resources for artists and the wellness of an expansive artistic ecosystem.
In their long history and service to the arts eco system they've worked extensively as a funding program designer and consultant for critical growth with funding entries. Including organizations that offer public and private funding programs such as: 3Arts (Chicago), the Knight Foundation (National), McKnight Foundation (MN), Jerome Foundation (NYC & MN), DanceUSA (National), MAP Fund (National), National Performance Network, Minnesota State Arts Board, and the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council (Twin Cities metro).
They ground their work in indigenous solidarity and decolonization as a means to undo white and able body supremacy and its pervasive relationship to capitalism. Taja is committed to working for healing and liberation of Black, Indigenous and people of color and radical care work for folks with chronic illness and disabilities.
*As a commitment to understanding the national pulse in the dance field specifically Taja had a decade plus of community building, performance and teaching in several national hubs including: New York City, Boston and Western Massachusetts, Minneapolis/St Paul, the greater Bay Area and Seattle.
